In August 1994, the six GBRPA communities along with Milford ratified the Memorandum of Understanding for Regional Economic Development, which created the Greater Bridgeport Economic Development Commission. This commission is composed of the chief elected officials of its seven member communities.
The GBRPA assists the commission by helping market communities in the Greater Bridgeport Planning Region and Milford to developers, businesses and investors.
